Lieutenant General Wosolsobe New Director General of the EU Military Staff
On Tuesday, Lieutenant General Wolfgang Wosolsobe assumed the responsibilities of Director General of the EU Military Staff in Brussels.
Wosolsobe began his military career in 1974 in Austria and served as Dean of the EU Military Committee in 2009 and 2010. In 2012, he was elected to the post of Director General of the EU Military Staff.
The EU Military Staff being a fully integrated part of the European External Action Service, Lieutenant General Wosolsobe intends to continue and deepen EU Military Staff interaction with the wider community dealing with the comprehensive approach, thus supporting the High Representative and the Chairman of the EU Military Committee.
Wosolsobe: "All stakeholders of Common Security Defence Policy are indispensable partners in this effort, alongside with the European Defence Agency. We also play our role in bringing the military dimension into a broad range of partnerships, with States and organizations. Our wide range of external partnerships offer a whole spectrum of opportunities, in terms of experience, cooperation and contributions. The EU Military Staff contributes to their further development."
