Anthropologist and Associate Professor at the University of Ottawa.
She received her PhD from Universite de Montreal and has done field work in Canada and around the world in South East Asia, the South Pacific and Central America.
From 1992 to 1997 she served as a technical advisor to the Commission of Inquiry into the Deployment of Canadian Forces to Somalia.
She also conducted research for the Commission on military culture, which was published as a book (The Canadian Airborne Regiment in Somalia: A Socio-cultural Inquiry).
She is currently conducting research in collaboration with the Department of National Defence on the role of military culture in the breakdown of discipline among Canadian Forces deployed to the former Yugoslavia.
