She has been a MacArthur Foundation post-doctoral fellow in the Department of War Studies at King’s College, and worked as a research associate at the Institute for Strategic Studies, in Pretoria.
Her work on regional security in Africa includes, Reinventing Peacekeeping in Africa: Conceptual and Legal Issues in ECOMOG Operations (2000) and Peacekeepers, Politicians, and Warlords: The Liberian Peace Process (1999), co-edited with Abiodun Alao and John Mackinlay.
