In case of an attack on Austrian territory, the Armed Forces are ready to respond immediately.
Mission Statement
The federal army protects the inhabitants of Austria: from attacks from outside, when internal security is threatened and in the event of natural disasters or major accidents. The army also makes its contribution to security and peace abroad.
